My Story
When I was young, I had so many ideas of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I knew that I loved being a storyteller as I was writing poems and stories, but I also shared stories through singing and performing for others. I have also always known that I wanted to help others achieve things with my storytelling, but I never knew how I could create a career with these aspirations.
After I graduated high school in 2015 - I began exploring my opportunities by pursuing a career in music with the idea of one day working in music therapy. However, I soon learned that although I enjoyed singing and performing, this was not a career that I wanted to follow. I moved abroad to help clear my mind and learn how I could be the best version of myself. During this time, I ended up working as a freelance copywriter and fell in love with telling the stories of others to help support their businesses.
I continued to work in copywriting as I fell in love with traveling. This led to Global Rookie being born and my first adventure in entrepreneurship. I created content for two years that could help others learn how to do what I was doing as I explored the world.

As I continued this work, I realized that although I was enjoying helping others, I felt like I was disconnected as I never had the opportunity to meet the people I was speaking to outside of the screen. This led to my idea of studying Physiotherapy and moving to the Netherlands to continue my education.
While working in Physiotherapy I learned that I loved to be around people and that I still had the passion to help others, however, I was missing the opportunity to share stories. I realized I needed to merge together my two loves and find opportunities that would allow me to be near people.
I finally ended up landing at the International Communication Management program at Fontys School of Applied Sciences (Fontys Hogeschool) and I began to realize that I had found my fit and I wanted to explore all things communications. I was very privileged to have the opportunity to work for Fontys outside of my classes and help create events, manage communications, speak with the students, and work on great projects such as designing and managing the Introduction Week for new students in my program.
Now I have completed my first internship where I have had the opportunity to realize that I am in love with copywriting and project management. I also learned that I want to continue exploring working on video and that I flourish in an environment where I have colleagues who I can see and I can tell the stories of people that I get to meet in real life.
No longer divided by a screen, I feel that I'm finally able to share the stories of the people who inspire me in life and I can continue developing my path to share the stories of those around the world.
